Taking the Lead Pet Services was established in 2018 and is owned and run by myself, Lisa Reynolds.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR DOG

I will work with you to help you understand how your dog learns and give you the skills required to teach your dog the desired behaviours.

Throughout all of this I will take into account your experience, lifestyle, situation, your dog’s personality and experience and will design a plan that works for you.

SCIENCE-BASED DOG TRAINING

I am passionate about using force free, science based training methods to help you build a great bond with your dog and enhance your relationship to enable them to live comfortably in our world and live happily in our homes. I love teaching dogs new skills and behaviours to help them relax into their lives and learn how to feel comfortable in their environment.

ABOUT LISA

HI, I’m LISA

I live in Kobble Creek, Brisbane, with with my family of dogs and horses. I have 2 beautiful dogs – Darcy is a yellow Labrador and Buddy is a Black Labrador cross Wolfhound.

I am originally from the UK (except Buddy) and moved over to Brisbane in August 2018 to start a new life here in Australia! Darcy moved over from the UK with me and Buddy joined me in June 2019. I also adopted a horse called Dori in March 2020 and a second horse, Tye, in June 2021.

A LOVE OF ANIMALS

I’ve always loved being around animals but Darcy is the reason I found such a huge love of dog training. She came to me when she was almost 3 and had been through multiple homes before arriving with very little socialisation as a puppy. As a result, she struggled in new situations and places she didn’t know and could be very reactive to other dogs when on lead. Darcy was diagnosed with anxiety. It has been a long road to get where we are now (she is able to comfortably come camping with me which I never thought she’d be able to do!) but she has taught me a huge amount and continues to amaze me every day. Buddy is very different to Darcy, he’s very goofy and always has me in fits of laughter!

My journey with Darcy pushed me to start looking in to why dogs behave the way they do and what I can do to help them feel more comfortable in their lives. This led to me start studying with The Institute of Modern Dog Trainers and I successfully completed my assessment with them in July 2018 and received an OCN Principles of Dog Training and Behaviour.

I believe there is always more to learn so I am continually expanding my knowledge with various courses, seminars and books to ensure that I keep up to date with the latest information.

I completed my Fear Free Certification in October 2020.

I’m currently working through a Scent Work Course and Canine Reactive Behaviour Advanced Certificate.

HELPING DOGS THROUGH TRAINING

I have a huge interest in helping anxious, reactive and rescue dogs and an interest in canine enrichment. I’m always trying to find new, fun ways to keep animals mentally stimulated and discovering new ways for them to be able to have an outlet for natural behaviours. I currently offer One-on-One dog and puppy training, puppy pre-school classes, Life Skills classes, Behavioural Consultations, Online options and I fit and supply the Perfect Fit Harness.
